I ordered a Kong Wubba Snugga for Hiro after seeing it on Barking Deals . I haven't bought a new toy for Hiro in awhile so I thought "why not?" =) Let me tell you, Hiro loved his new toy. I didn't have a choice on the color so Hiro ended up with a Pink Wubba. O_o. I was hoping they would mail a blue one. After about 10 minutes, Hiro started chewing on one of the legs and now there's a tear in it. "Hiro! It's not a chew toy" Here is a video of him playing with his Wubba Snugga.

Homemade Dog Treats
This past weekend I decided to make some homemade dog treats for Hiro. I checked out a dog treat book from the local library and wrote down all the reciepes that weren't too hard to make. I decided to try out "Liver Bait Fudge" It was actually very easy to make. I ran out of eggs so I wasn't able to add it to this batch. Here is the receipe if you want to make it for your pooch. I'll try to show a video of Hiro eating one. =) Enjoy!
You don't want to give too much liver to puppies because they can be too rich for them. So I only give him about 1 a day.
Liver Bait Fudge
Makes 96
Prep Time: 15 min
Cooking Time: 30-35 min
13 oz chickens’ or lamb liver
½ pint (300 ml) cold water
13 oz (400 g) wheat and gluten free flour
½ teaspoon chopped garlic
4 turkey bacon slices, grilled and chopped
1 egg
2 ½ fl oz olive oil
1. Liquidize the liver and measured water in a food processor or blender. Transfer to a large bowl, add the flour, garlic, turkey bacon, egg and olive oil, and mix with a spoon until it forms a smooth paste.
2. Pour the ingredients into a 7x11 in shallow baking tin lined with greased greaseproof paper. Cook in preheated oven, 350oF for 30-35 min. Prick with a fork halfway through cooking to release the air. Check it is cooked through by inserting a knife. If the knife comes out clean, it is ready. Otherwise, return to the oven for 2-3 more min. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
3. Cut into 1 in cubes using a sharp knife. Place the liver bait cubes into small re-sealable freezer bags and freeze until required. Defrost a bag in the refrigerator before your next raining session.

Dog Park Revisited
I took Hiro to the Shiba Meetup @ Shirlington Dog Park today. The first time Hiro went to the Dog Park wasn't a great experience for him. But this time it was definitely a LOT better. The meet up started at 2 pm. I got there around 1:30. There were only 1 other dog in the small dogs section but soon more and more dogs trickled in.
I think Hiro enjoyed himself. Somehow he found a small hole in the dirt and decided that he wanted to dig it to make it bigger and lie in there. Shibas are known to be diggers! After 2 hours of hanging out, he got tired and would just lay there and watch the other dogs play. It was fun chatting it up with other Shiba owners. I only wish Shirlington was closer from Germantown!
Here is a video of Hiro fighting with a 12 week old mini aussie for the HOLE.

Teething
Hiro's adult teeth are coming in. He still has some puppy teeth that are loose. I feel so bad for him. I can tell he's uncomfortable cause he'll whine and then want to chew on something. And he's constantly licking his lips. Poor puppy!! ><"

My Boy is Growing Up
Sorry it's been awhile since my last update. Hiro is growing up to be a fine handsome boy. =) While I'm home, he has full reign of the house now. He will be 5 months on the 17th. I wonder if he'll grow anymore. I think he's about 15 lbs. Here a video of him licking the floor. I have no idea why. hahaha

A Weekend Without Hiro
Tomorrow night I will be heading to the Windy City. My cousin will be watching while I'm gone. I know I'm going to miss him like crazy. Heck, I'm at work and I miss him now. =P Hopefully he'll still remember me when I get back. ><"
