Pearly Whites

Lots of people have been commenting on how white Hiro's teeth are. I do brush his teeth about once a week. Sometimes I forgot, but he does get enough dog chews to help get rid of tarter. I give Hiro bully sticks, Himalayan dog chews, and also feeding raw helps. I highly recommend Cain & Able's Kissable dog tooth paste. It has a vanilla mint flavor. Hiro loves it! Allergy Supplements

After giving Hiro Aunt Jeni's All Natural Allergy Aid supplements, his eye goo is pretty much gone. Instead of giving your pup benedryl, I highly recommend an all natural supplement instead. =)

Hiking at Sugarloaf

This past Saturday I took Hiro on his first real hike. We went to Sugarloaf Mountain in Dickerson Maryland. Our trail was over 4 miles, but not quite 5. I usually take Hiro around the trail at Seneca Creek Park but the trail there is very flat. Sugarloaf has some small rocks where you need to do some light climbing. I gotta say, Hiro did a lot better than his mommy!

Natural Remedy

I went to Whole Pet Central yesterday to get Hiro a new harness. They sold EzyDog Products. I was surprised they were cheaper than what was being sold online. I'll have to post a pic of him in his new harness. He looks quite handsome. =)

As I was checking out, I asked the lady behind the counter if they had anything for seasonal allergies in dogs. She suggested getting the Allergy Aid by Aunt Jeni's and also a small carton of Goat's milk. The Goat's milk is suppose to boost the immune system and Allergy Aid tablets is suppose to help with scratching and ear/eye gunk. My main concern is the eye goop. Every morning Hiro has eye goop in both of his eyes. Instead of taking him to the vet where they're going to give him shots or steroids, I decided to go with the natural approach first and see how it goes. *crosses fingers*

Seasonal Allergies??

I think Hiro has season allergies. The past week, he's been sneezing, runny nose, pawing at his eye cause he has EYE GOOP!! This morning his eye goops looked really bad. I called the vet on Saturday and they recommend me bringing him in. That's a minimum $60 just for the check up and then also meds. O_o He has an appointment with the vet this Wednesday. Some people have been giving their dogs benedryl if they have seasonal allergies. I wonder if they give it to them everyday during the spring. I would hate to medicate Hiro for that long. Does your dog have seasonal allergies?

Bad Hiro!

My dad called me at work yesterday and told me that Hiro ripped the carpet. Over the phone he made it seem like the carpet was complete ruined. Hiro was in the kitchen and I had the gate blocking the kitchen entrace but there was some carpet that was exposed on the kitchen side. I guess that's how he got to it. When I got home, I noticed that Hiro tore off a corner of the carpet that was bordering the kitchen. It's a small triangular piece that got torn off. It wasn't too bad. I did point at it and said "BAD HIRO!! NO!" He knew he did something wrong because he immediately layed down and started whining. At least he knows what he did. I do have some spare carpet so I plan to patch it up with some heavy duty glue. I'll post a pic of the damaage soon!

Sleeping in the Kitchen

I've decided to keep Hiro in the kitchen since the weather has been getting warmer. His pen is kept on the second level. The second level is noticeably warmer than the first level. Instead of moving his pen to the first floor, I blocked him off in the kitchen with the gate. Last night was his first night staying there. He did whine a lot. So around 10:30, I went downstairs to see what the fuss was all about. I guess he didn't like being in the kitchen. I can tell he was super tired. I ended up petting him through the gate and comforted him until he went to bed. =)
