Took Hiro to the Vet yesterday to have his ears checked. And lo and behold! He has a lot of gunk in his year. The vet squirted some cleaner in his ears and put some ointment in there. I gotta do this once a day for the next 7 days. The vet had to put a nylon muzzle on him while she did this cause she didn't want him to bite her. Hiro has never bit anyone, but oh wells. I just kept my mouth shut. I felt bad for Hiro. A technician had to come hold him down. Hiro was freaking out. But he was a good boy. He didn't make one peep. He was a lot better when we got home. Last night he hardly scrached his ears. I can't wait for the next 7 days to be over.
This vet visit burned a hole in my pocket. Hopefully Hiro's insurance will cover some of it. ><"
Hiro, I wish you a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteyeah, figured. had the same situation with my shiba. glad hiro is going to get better. as a suggestion, do it in the bathroom. when hiro shakes his head, it will spray everywhere. try to leave the solution in there for a couple secs, rubbing his ears with the solution in it. dont forget to use a swab to wipe some of the gunk out!
ReplyDeletenow to deal with my dogs and potential allergies.
Hopefully he gets better soon! What insurance did you end up going with? I'm shopping around for them now.
ReplyDeletePeter: yup! I took Hiro to the bathroom. I had to get my dad to help me hold it down. It's a 2 person job!
ReplyDeleteBuffyshiba: I have healthy paws. This ear infection is my first claim. They got really good reviews online so I decided to go with them.
