Bad Hiro!

My dad called me at work yesterday and told me that Hiro ripped the carpet. Over the phone he made it seem like the carpet was complete ruined. Hiro was in the kitchen and I had the gate blocking the kitchen entrace but there was some carpet that was exposed on the kitchen side. I guess that's how he got to it. When I got home, I noticed that Hiro tore off a corner of the carpet that was bordering the kitchen. It's a small triangular piece that got torn off. It wasn't too bad. I did point at it and said "BAD HIRO!! NO!" He knew he did something wrong because he immediately layed down and started whining. At least he knows what he did. I do have some spare carpet so I plan to patch it up with some heavy duty glue. I'll post a pic of the damaage soon!

Sleeping in the Kitchen

I've decided to keep Hiro in the kitchen since the weather has been getting warmer. His pen is kept on the second level. The second level is noticeably warmer than the first level. Instead of moving his pen to the first floor, I blocked him off in the kitchen with the gate. Last night was his first night staying there. He did whine a lot. So around 10:30, I went downstairs to see what the fuss was all about. I guess he didn't like being in the kitchen. I can tell he was super tired. I ended up petting him through the gate and comforted him until he went to bed. =)

Puppy Play Date w/ Kiba

Shiba 500

Here is Hiro doing the famous Shiba 500. He was so hyper last night. I'm glad I was finally able to take a video of this!

hmm..what's under the bed?

Hiro likes to stick his head under the bed and have a looksee. I don't have anything under the bed so I'm not sure why he likes it there. One time he actually crawled under the bed. I thought he was going to get stuck! O_o

Yummy Chicken Feet

I've been giving Hiro chicken feet for dessert after his dinner. He loves it! It's also good for his joints. Here's a video of him munching on his chicken feet.

Hiro vs. Bailey

This past Sunday I took Hiro to the dog park since the weather was so nice. There were only 3 other dogs in the small dog section when we got there. Not too long after we got there, all the dogs left. So it was just Hiro by his lonesome. And then shortly after a dachshund showed up. Her name is Bailey. Here is a video of them playing. She's only 10 mo old.

Uncle Hiro

Saturday afternoon we met with a 9 week old Shiba puppy named Kiba. Kiba was very rambunctious. They both played along very well. Hiro kept trying to knock Kiba over with his bum. It was kinda funny. Here's a video of hem playing.

Vet Visit

Took Hiro to the Vet yesterday to have his ears checked. And lo and behold! He has a lot of gunk in his year. The vet squirted some cleaner in his ears and put some ointment in there. I gotta do this once a day for the next 7 days. The vet had to put a nylon muzzle on him while she did this cause she didn't want him to bite her. Hiro has never bit anyone, but oh wells. I just kept my mouth shut. I felt bad for Hiro. A technician had to come hold him down. Hiro was freaking out. But he was a good boy. He didn't make one peep. He was a lot better when we got home. Last night he hardly scrached his ears. I can't wait for the next 7 days to be over.

This vet visit burned a hole in my pocket. Hopefully Hiro's insurance will cover some of it. ><"

King Farm Dog Park

Since the weather was so nice yesterday, I decided to take Hiro to the King Farm Dog Park to see Uncle Mac. Hiro pretty much chilled there the whole time but he did get some Shiba play.

Ear Infection

Hiro may have an ear infection. =( I noticed Saturday night he was shaking a lot. But not the usual shakes. They were more "half" shakes. He'll slowly move his head side to side. I took a video of him and posted on "The Shiba Inu Forum". That's how I found out he may have an ear infection. I did a good search on doggie ear infection and he seems to have all the symptoms. Head tilted to one side, Scratching behind the ear, Shaking a lot. I called the Vet this morning and made an appointment for 2:00 PM tomorrow. Here is a video of him. Poor HIRO!
